Student-musicians celebrated school spirit and musical talent with a showcase of marching band performances featuring popular hits from the 1990s, party classics and tributes to music legends. The Sewanhaka Central High School District held its inaugural Marching Band Festival on Oct. 22 at Michael J. The festival opened with the Sewanhaka High School Marching Ravens, who performed the national anthem before presenting their show, “We Love the '90s.” The energetic set featured hits including “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “All the Small Things” and “Enter Sandman.” The Elmont Memorial Marching Spartans followed with “Caught in the Storm,” featuring selections such as “Where Have You Been,” “Umbrella” and “Wild Thoughts.” [caption id="attachment_378168" align="alignnone" width="700"] The Elmont Memorial Marching Spartans perform at the district's inaugural Marchi
